It is open when Monday is a public holiday. Instead, the next day will be closed.
Occasionally, I would like to be there!
The clerk of the customer shop is supposed to be courteous. My face is scary (laughs)
Especially, there was no notice of time saving business.
Home to the original Yokohama rÄmen, Yoshimuraya is worth the wait : thick, tasty tonkotsu broth, al dente noodles, excellent chÄshÅ« and good ajitama.Definitely on my top 3 rÄmenya in the Tokyo area (and I have tried many).
Very salty miso flavored soup. They give out free tomatoes
Don't worry if you don't speak Japanese. The waiter knows just enough to find out the noodle hardness, soup thickness and how much oil you prefer.Need to buy your noodle ticket via vending machine first though.Stopped by Yokohama station for dinner here before heading back to Tokyo
You should check if the ticket machine puts right change for your paying. The ticket machine of this shop is so out of date that you might be provided with wrong change.
Went here on working day at 2PM but there was still a line. Bought the ticket and waited for around half an hour to get in. You can custom hardness of the noodles and thickness of the soup. To me, the soup was too salty and lacked complexity in its flavor. The noodles were good. The pork was more on stiff side with smell that I don't like. IMHO, their ramen is overrated and not worth the time spent waiting.
Very good broth, thick noodles. Limited options for additions and spice.
Pork ramen was amazing. Little salty but good.
Prepare to wait for 30-45 mins pending the time l. Came here around 9pm and took us 15mins to get our bowl of ramen! The noodle can come with different hardness and you need to pay at vending machine to get your order. Counter seating with small Japanese sitting table. Enjoy the thick pork broth, the meat provided is so tender and very different from other store. Friendly waiter and good to come after your heavy drinks. Close at 10pm...
Awesome ramen place
Absolutely fantastic! Worth waiting in the line. Very rich taste, but I don’t recommend taking too much chicken oil. Very nice and helpful staff!
This is the original Ie-Kei ramen shop, so I had to try it. The restaurant accommodates about 20 people at a time, so figure you will have to wait about 30 minutes per 20 people in line. Good, but I prefer Sugitaya more.
Waited for roughly 30 minutes outside the restaurant, I ordered the large chashu ramen with medium firmness for the noodles. The noodles are fresh and chewy, which is great! The chashu has a different texture and a very smoky taste, which is actually quite neat. The chashu slices are very thinly sliced, and there were 4 pieces in my ramen. Unfortunately the soup itself is SO salty and lacks complexity, it basically drowns out the taste from the rest of the ingredients......and 3 hours after the meal I'm still thirsty. Maybe this is the flavor preferred by the locals, but as a foreigner I have tasted much better ramen without waiting in Tokyo.
I went here from a recommendation from a friend. This was honestly the best ramen I have had my entire 3 weeks trip to Japan. I would highly recommend going to Yoshimuraya for some amazing ramen!
They have order sheets for foreigners.Great taste.
It’s the best ramen I’ve ever had in the world.Soup of it is made from pork bone and a bunch of vegetables and meats. It’s called “Iekei-Ramen†that’s born in Yokohama area. You have your own type of ramen flavor so it might not going to be your favorite though. You need to wait in queue for about 30mins. It could be more than 1 hour if you go there peak time.
Yes, 10years ago, I used to have the legendary original Ramen* Sometimes I miss too much 🔥Warning âš ï¸ This ramen is a kind of very first Ramen that’s based on soup by Pig bones *Yes, definitely super oily *Some of people used to say ‘ I can’t have it ‘ even japanese * but more than these some of people have loved this Ramen* you know why* there is histories of Ramen’s real taste * Yes, I respect this taste 🔥🔥But not sure about the interior 😂
Yokohama institution. Be there early or wait hungry. Thick and salty tonkotsu soy broth that will make you crave a beer after.
Waited an hour to enjoy the ramen only to feel pressured to eat faster and leave the restaurant. Staff kept eyeing us and cleaning our surroudings as if to tell us to get out. Ramen was good but nothing extraordinary. Very salty ramen so if you do end up going get the less flavor option.
Found it on ramen supleks and visited during family holidays. We were lucky not to have to wait to long as it’s a very popular place, affordable and yummy but wouldn’t wait for an hr.
One if the best iekei ramen place
The wait was very long because we arrived when it was a popular time to eat. It took us about an hour to get in. The broth was amazing, very savory and tied everything together well. You can order your broth to be thick, normal, or thin, noodles soft, al dente, or firm, and oil to your liking. I ordered normal charsiu ramen with an egg and was really satisfied overall. The thick broth was a little salty and I didn't want to finish it all, but that's ok. The broth is still really good and you don't have to finish it all if you don't want to. There's some English spoken here, but it wasn't that necessary. The staff know you probably can't speak or read well if you are a foreigner, so they will take your options for the ramen oil amount, noodle firmness, and broth thickness outside before you get in.
